SRA

So im the web officer for the SRA (Student Radio Association). (Before i go on i should say that im working on a website originally developed by Mark Farrington! I’m just “improving” and carrying on from his work!) This means i get to look after all there lovely websites! (SRA, I Love SR, Hearing Aid, Student Radio Awads).

I’m simply using this page to record all the changes and plans i have for the site as its always useful to keep a record and i know some people like to know what I’m doing with the site! It’ll also help me when i get to write my lovely update to the SRA members as all the exec and officers *should* be doing! ;)

Plans (Updated June 18th ’10)

  • Chat page like Radio Sonar’s (The Pulse) for the SRA Chart Show
  • Chart show Blog with RSS feed
  • Contact form for the SRA Chart Show
  • Audio page for Podcasts/Interviews
  • Web client for all SRA twitter accounts
  • Events Calendar
  • Interaction with MUZU.TV
  • ILoveSR Radio Player Analytics
  • Tidying up and make the contact form a bit more useful and functional!
  • Badge System – Earn badges from/for SRA activities!
  • Change the invoicing system to make it a bit easier for Matt (VAT mainly!)

Current Changes/Fixes (Updated June 18th ’10)

  • Moved our email over to google… Much nicer to use and manage!
  • Tided up the reset password feature. Now works properly!
  • Fixed and tided up mailing function (You now get an email confirming your details when you sign up on the site!)
  • Each site has its own pretty favicon rather than the default SRA!
  • News on the site can now have an expiry date! After a specified date it will vanish!
  • Moved the avatar function to gravatar – all avatars are now via gravatar!
  • Spent allot of time tidying up the awards judging system (boring stuff like error messages and small bugs!)
  • The contact page now includes pictures of our lovely exec & officers
  • Judges biographies for the SRA Awards
  • Hundreds of small bugs. You probably noticed a few of them but im not going to list them all!

There’s plenty of other to-do’s but that’s mainly backend stuff for the exec and officers to use! I wouldn’t want to bore you with any of that!
